• NOW is the time to turn in your photo and details about your service men and women for our Veteran’s Day Remembrance Video. Give printed photos and bios to the church office or submit them electronically to tech@standrewgmc.us
• 2nd Saturday Serve, Nov 9th – 9 AM @ Coffee Area – This is time to go out for Mission of the Month Outreach or stay in for church beautification projects. (December will have no 2nd Saturday Serve Projects.)
• Packed Operation Christmas Child Boxes will be prayed over and sent. Don’t miss Sunday, November 10th as we pray together over this mission project.

• Nov 18th – 1PM Men’s 42 Domino Game in the Coffee Area
• Nov 21st, Thursday, at 10 am the Interchurch Prayer Group is meeting at First Presbyterian at 401 N. Madison. This prayer meeting is followed by a light lunch.
• Nov 30th – 9 AM come ready to Deck the Halls as we prepare our church for Advent. This will be followed by Pizza for all those who come volunteer. Many hands make light work!
• Nov 30th – 1:30 PM the women are hosting a Christmas Cookie Exchange: Bring Cookies and Take Cookies. This is a social opportunity to get to know one another better and invite your friends. Plan ahead now to baking your favorite Christmas Cookies for this cookie exchange.  

December – Advent Season each Sunday has a special theme: Hope, Peace, Joy, & Love concluding with Christmas Eve Services Tuesday Dec 24 – 6 PM

For those who lost loved ones or find Christmas to be a hard time, plan to come Sunday Night, December 22nd for a special worship service – Blue Christmas.

“Walk In The Light”

In 1 John 1:5-9 (NIV) we read: “5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Early in the morning, or late at night, when I leave my home office I walk in the darkness to keep from disturbing anyone. Sometimes I have to use the flashlight on my IPhone to help me find my way, but when I turn the corner it’s a different story. I can see, because I can see the light! The light from the living room shines brightly around the upper and lower edges of the hallway door.

In the darkness of the hallway just outside my home office, physically speaking, I would not be able to lead anyone to the light very easily. But after turning the corner, physically speaking, I would have no trouble at all leading anyone to the light. They would be able to see it for themselves.

In the darkness of sin, spiritually speaking, I would not be able to lead anyone to the light. I would only be able to lead them further into the darkness. Before I can lead someone to the light, I must see the light!

We can’t claim that we have never sinned. We can’t claim to be sinless. What we can claim is that when we confess our sins, God forgives us, and restores us to a life lived in God’s light! So confess your sins, and “Walk In The Light!”

Yet these Holy Day events are not the end! Every week Saint Andrew is seeking to GROW, WORSHIP, and SERVE together as seekers and followers of Jesus Christ. Weekly Bible Studies, Class Meetings, Sunday School Classes allow us to GROW. Worship Services give opportunities to WORSHIP and SERVE. Bunny Brunch and the upcoming church fellowship meal following the service on April 7th allow us to SERVE. Check out the calendar and be apart of something that is changing and growing. We pray you experience Jesus this holy season and plan to come again to get to know Him more.
